FIRST SUBARU DIESEL ENGINES LAUNCHED IN EUROPE In the Subaru News section of the Summer 2007 issue of Drive, we presented information about the Subaru Boxer Turbo Diesel engine introduced at last year’s 77th Geneva International Motor Show. Considered the world’s first horizontally opposed turbo diesel engine, the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder unit is the first diesel engine developed by Subaru. It went on sale in European Legacy and Outback models near the end of January 2008. Subaru of America, Inc. is studying the feasibility of bringing Subaru diesel models to North America within the next few years. |
