SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC., in a five-month period, May through September 2002, will launch one brand new model, introduce the second generation of one of its most popular vehicles and provide new features, options and safety upgrades for the rest of its line. By early fall, all 2003 model year vehicles will be at Subaru dealerships. Heres a preview. |

Forester
The new Forester has a rugged, sport-utility vehicle look, while setting new standards
for refinement and safety. All models have 16-inch wheels, which, coupled with heavy-duty
four-wheel independent suspension with internal rebound springs in the struts, increase
overall vehicle stability. Its sharp new look is complemented by significant interior
improvements, including more leg room and hip room, fully adjustable sport design
front seats and plenty of storage compartments. The return of the exclusive Subaru
Hill-Holder clutch system on manual-transmission models helps prevent your
vehicle from rolling back when you are starting on an incline.
Legacy
For 2003, Legacy models offer a new, freshly sculpted front bumper and grille design. Choose from the smart value of the Legacy L or the athletic performance of the Legacy 2.5 GT. Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) All-Wheel Drive is now standard on all automatic transmission Legacy 2.5 GT models, as is a new Sportshift feature. Big news in the Legacy range is the introduction of the new Legacy L with Special Edition Package. Start with all the standard features of the Legacy L, then add 16-inch alloy wheels, 205/55R16 all-season radial tires, projector-beam halogen foglights, a moonroof, in-glass antenna and luxury interior appointments including a black leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle and wood grain-patterned trim. Its a great package and a great value. Outback
From its purposeful, sporting new looks, the latest Outback instantly makes a powerful statement even when standing still. New for 2003, Outback H6-3.0 models offer a Titanium Pearl monotone exterior color choice, and Outback models have a new Silver Stone Metallic over Titanium Pearl color choice. All Outback models have a redesigned front bumper and grille. The OnStar® communication system is standard for Outback H6-3.0 models. 2003 Legacy and Outback models are in Subaru dealerships now. Baja
All new for 2003, the Subaru Baja is a dynamic crossover vehicle that blends the freedom and ruggedness of a compact four-door pickup truck with the driving dynamics, safety and comfort of a passenger car. Slated to arrive at Subaru dealerships in September, the Baja was meticulously designed to meet the needs of drivers with active lifestyles and active attitudes. The Baja is powered by the proven SOHC 16V 2.5-liter boxer engine and Full-Time All-Wheel Drive. The Baja comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission, and a four-speed automatic transmission is available. A power moonroof is standard, and the seats are perforated gray leather trimmed with a Baja logo embossed into the front seatbacks. The Bajas cargo bed has an integrated bed liner with chrome side sport bars, and the Switchback system incorporates a pass-through door in the rear bulkhead panel for carrying longer items. Impreza and Impreza WRX
In its first year, the Impreza WRX won Automobile Magazines 2002 Automobile of the Year Award, among many other honors. Its a pocket rocket that provides world-class performance and fun with the control found in every Subaru. WRX models rule the road, thanks to their powerful DOHC 227-horsepower turbocharged and intercooled boxer engine. Harnessing this power is Subaru All-Wheel Drive, a limited-slip rear differential, and an advanced four-channel/four-sensor anti-lock braking system. Its race proven, not inspired. Look for 2003 Impreza models at Subaru dealerships in early fall. As always, your authorized Subaru dealer is the best source for information on the latest Subaru models.
