Armstrong has put together the 20-member Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope Team
for 2005. The purpose of the tour is to inform the public about the importance of
cancer research, and all of the riders have been touched by cancer in some way.
Among them are survivors, caregivers, physicians, nurses and researchers.
The tour riders will leave San Diego on September 29, 2005, and cycle 3,300 miles to Washington, D.C., on October 8. The 20-member team will participate in 100-mile relays each day for nine days, riding day and night. Along the route, they will stop to share their experiences with cancer. |
