KNOWN FOR ITS SAFETY AND FLEXIBILITY, THE SUBARU FORESTER MODEL LINEUP HAS A SPORTIER EDGE FOR 2008.

The 2008 Subaru Forester receives new colors and enhanced features. While the model lineup retains a wide appeal, it re-focuses on the sporty nature of the Forester.

EXTERIOR
Emphasizing the Forester’s nimble nature, the Sports 2.5 X and 2.5 XT models feature a more aggressive bumper and black mesh grille. Headlamp assemblies have surrounds painted black. Body-colored, bright-finished roof rails top off the car. In the back, the Sports 2.5 XT models have a body-colored spoiler with integrated high-mounted LED brake lamp.

Outside, some of the Forester colors change, with:

• Topaz Gold Metallic replacing Champagne Gold Opal
• Steel Silver Metallic replacing Crystal Gray Metallic
• Dark Gray Metallic replacing Urban Gray Metallic

In addition, 2.5 X L.L.Bean^® models have Satin White, Dark Gray, Garnet Red, Newport Blue, Steel Silver, and Evergreen in two-tone paint as well as Topaz Gold Metallic in monotone.

Sports 2.5 X models have five colors available:

• WR Blue
• Dark Gray
• Garnet Red
• Aspen White
• Steel Silver

Sports 2.5 XT will be available in:

• WR Blue
• Dark Gray
• Garnet Red
• Steel Silver

INTERIOR
Inside, details have been added to the Sports 2.5 X and 2.5 XT models. Both gain standard aluminum-alloy accelerator, brake, and clutch pedals when equipped with manual transmission, accelerator and brake pedals with an automatic.

The Sports 2.5 X has added leather, with leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, and brake handle.

For the 2.5 X L.L.Bean and all Sports models, seven upgraded speakers are standard, including subwoofer.

MECHANICAL
Stability and traction-control systems enhance 2008 Forester models, with Sports 2.5 XT and 2.5 XT Limited models having standard Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) when equipped with an automatic transmission. These models also have standard Variable Torque Distribution AWD and Traction Control System.

Wheel designs change for many of the Forester models, too:

• 2.5 X – steel wheels with 5-spoke, alloy-look wheel covers
• Sports 2.5 X – 16-inch, 6-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels
• Sports 2.5 XT – 17-inch, 10-spoke “STI-style” aluminum-alloy wheels and STI mini-caps

Over the years, the Subaru Forester has been cited for its safety, versatility, and fun-to-drive capabilities. The 2008 Forester models carry forward those characteristics.
