On September 7-8,
2002, Subaru of America, Inc. held its annual Subaru Rendezvous in picturesque Green
Lakes State Park in Fayetteville near Syracuse, New York. This free event was open
to the public and designed to provide a fun, hands-on way to experience outdoor
sports in a setting that communicates the culture of Subaru and provides information
on Subaru products. Active lifestyle clinics included mountain biking, rock climbing,
kayaking, fly-fishing, gourmet cooking, adventure racing, meteorological and geological
demonstrations, and much more!

This years Subaru
Rendezvous incorporated a motorsports area for the first time. Within this section,
the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) put Subaru vehicles to the test in a closed
circuit so attendees could observe firsthand the exceptional road-handling capabilities
of Subaru vehicles. Additionally, a Subaru WRX rally car was on display along with
three auto show exhibits an AWD cutaway, 2003 Forester cutaway and Boxer
engine cutaway. Some lucky folks even had an opportunity to win a trip around the
road course in the Subaru WRX rally car for the ride of their lives! |
