  Eight Subaru Baja vehicles are being used in lifeguard service on Coronado Island near San Diego. The City of Coronado is located on the southern part of the island, and a U.S. Navy base is on the northern half. Subaru Western Region has supplied the City of Coronado with four red Baja vehicles to help patrol its beach – one of the top 10 in the nation – and the Navy uses four yellow Baja vehicles to patrol the beach on its half of the island. The Baja vehicles are outfitted with custom-built bed racks (by Chingón Custom Metal Fabrication in San Diego – www.chingoncmf.com), lights and radio/PA systems. |
